Joseph and Any Dream Will Do raises a major contribution to BBC Children in Need

Joseph helps children's dreams come true

Andrew Lloyd Webber is delighted to announce that Joseph and Any Dream Will Do have raised a staggering £600,000 for this year's BBC Children in Need.

The money was raised from various activites including two special charity performances of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor (TM symbol needed here) Dreamcoat, the telephone votes cast during Any Dream Will Do and the sales of the Joseph single.

Andrew Lloyd Webber, who handed over the cheque to Terry Wogan as part of BBC1's live appeal night, said: "A huge thank you to Lee, the viewers and everyone at Joseph who have worked so hard fundraising for this year's BBC Children in Need. It is a fantastic sum of money and really will make difference to disadvantaged children and young people across the UK".

Lee Mead kicked off last night's BBC 1 extravaganza with a nationwide singalong, before rushing back to the Adelphi Theatre for the second of the Children in Need charity performances of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
